SWOMS, or the Southwestern Ohio Meteorological Society, is comprised of groups, or teams, of NOAA/NWS-educated storm spotters who are trying to further their knowlegde and experience in the field of meteorology. Many of our members have been spotting, both independently, as well as under the education of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Association. Neither NOAA, the National Weather Service, or SWOMS endorses or suggests storm CHASING. Our members are carefully trained on what, as well as what NOT, do do during a severe weather event.
